Registering a Domain
Search for and register a new domain.
Registering a domain reserves the name for your account for the selected registration period. After registration, you can configure nameservers and DNS records for websites, mail and other services.
Before you register
- Check the spelling carefully. Domain registrations usually cannot be renamed after completion.
- Decide which TLD you want to use, for example
.com,.netor a country-code TLD. - Prepare accurate holder and contact details. Some registries require valid contact data.
- Decide whether you want to use our nameservers or external nameservers.
- Check whether the TLD has special requirements, such as local presence, business details or additional verification.
Register a domain
- Open the domain registration area in the dashboard.
- Search for the domain name you want to register.
- Select an available domain and registration period.
- Enter or confirm the domain holder and contact details.
- Choose nameservers if the dashboard asks for them during ordering.
- Review the order and complete payment.
- Wait until the registration is completed by the registry.
Some domains may be premium, reserved or unavailable even if the name looks unused. The dashboard shows whether a domain can be ordered.
After registration
After the domain is active, configure DNS for the services you want to use:
- Add
AandAAAArecords for websites or servers. - Add
MXand mail-relatedTXTrecords before using email. - Add verification
TXTrecords for third-party services. - Change nameservers if another DNS provider should host the DNS zone.
DNS changes can take time to propagate. If a new domain does not resolve immediately, wait a while and test again.
Email verification
Some registries or TLDs require email verification after registration. If you receive a verification email, complete it within the specified time. Otherwise, the registry may suspend the domain until verification is completed.
Registration problems
Contact support if the registration remains pending for an unusually long time or fails after payment. Include the domain name, TLD and the message shown in the dashboard.
